*Position Summary* The RCMIS is seeking an enthusiastic professional to take on the role of Second Cook. This individual will strive to provide the highest level of food and beverage service to all members and guests enhancing their overall experience in a very supportive environment. Here are some of our expectations for this position:
- Preparation, cooking and plating of all items at assigned station.
- Detailed knowledge of all daily and weekly menu specials as well as regular menu items.
- Ensure dishes are being prepared to the correct specifications, quantity & quality and are correctly seasoned.
- Responsible for ensuring all food storage and culinary tasks are performed according to RCMIS standards and safe food handling procedures.
- Demonstrate a strict commitment to minimizing costs without compromising quality.
- Versatility to execute casual and fine dining experiences concurrently, serving buffet stations as needed.
- Ensures all attire, operating standards, health & safety, food safety standards are followed
- Flexibility to respond to changes in demands and address special requests for members on short notice.
- Perform additional related duties as required.
*Job Requirements*
- 1+ years of kitchen experience with a solid background in food preparation, private club or hotel an asset.
- Multi-tasker in a high paced environment.
- Previous leadership skills required.
- Excellent culinary tastes and artistic flair for creating unique meals and presentation.
- Strong organizational, leadership and communication skills.
- Computer proficiency in MS office an asset.
- Food Handler?s Certificate required.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including: weekends, holidays and special events, irregular days off and start times.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
