Expert Safety Assessments (incl. SIL-Graph & K16) | Experte Sicherheitsbetrachtungen (inkl. Sil-Graph & K16) (m/w/d)

Your new team

At the Mannheim/Penzberg Management location, we are well over 1,300 specialists for various infrastructure and professional services that we provide for the Mannheim and Penzberg sites. In a dynamic environment, we promote seamless collaboration across business units and functions, offer innovative solutions, and improve the working environment for employees at the Mannheim and Penzberg locations.

In this role, you are part of Roche Diagnostics GmbH "Risk Management & SHE Compliance", specifically the "Implementation Management" team. In our team, we take responsibility for the successful transfer of legal requirements, global SHE standards, as well as processes and systems into practical and economical solutions at our sites. We always act with an awareness of our great responsibility towards the environment and society and ensure that framework conditions are implemented and lived sustainably. We are responsible for two sites, yet still one team: despite the spatial distance, we are connected by close, cross-site exchange and a strong team spirit.

Responsibilities | What to expect from you

In this role, you take responsibility for ensuring technical plant and process safety as well as occupational safety in the RDG, with a clear focus on functional safety and the design of safe working environments. Furthermore, you will take on the following exciting tasks:

  • You perform specialist safety assessments and risk analyses, specifically contributing your expertise in the classification of Functional Safety (SIL-Graphs) and the assessment of systems with asphyxiating gases (K16 standard).
  • You coordinate safety specifications and implement them consistently to increase legal certainty for all those responsible in the department.
  • As a competent contact person, you review safety concepts and advise the organization on the implementation of complex technical requirements.
  • You investigate work-related injuries or media releases, conduct sound root cause analyses, and derive preventive measures from them.
  • Together with the Business Units, you develop sustainable solutions and actively accompany them until successful handover to operational operation.
  • You ensure that the measures taken are not only safe but also economical, and demonstrate their sustainable success for the organization.
  • In coordination with SHE legislation and the Business Units, you are responsible for the entire permit-related documentation between Roche and the licensing authorities.

Qualifications | What you bring with you

  • You have successfully completed a degree (Master or Bachelor) in engineering, safety technology, health management, or a comparable qualification.
  • You possess sound relevant professional experience (6-8 years with a Bachelor, 5-7 years with a Master), ideally in the chemical industry environment.
  • You bring in-depth knowledge of the relevant regulatory frameworks, especially regarding BetrSichV, TRBS, TRGS, TRAS, DIN EN 61508, DIN EN 615011, and K16.
  • Strong economic thinking and action, as well as the ability to perform complex risk analyses precisely, characterize you.
  • You speak English at a business level and generally possess excellent communication skills. As a team player, you are able to work effectively with various stakeholders and convey complex contexts understandably.
  • You act as an expert across locations; you view potential business travel primarily between Mannheim and Penzberg as an enrichment.

So far, so good? It can be even better.

We offer you diverse top benefits at our locations. Only together with you can we improve the lives of patients. You make Roche unique with your contribution.
