Your new team

At the Management Mannheim/Penzberg location, we are well over 1,300 specialists for various infrastructure and professional services that we provide for the Mannheim and Penzberg sites. In a dynamic environment, we promote seamless collaboration across business units and functions, offer innovative solutions, and improve the working environment for employees at the Mannheim and Penzberg locations.

In this role, you are part of Roche Diagnostics GmbH "Risk Management & SHE Compliance", specifically the "Implementation Management" team. In our team, we take responsibility for the successful transfer of legal requirements, global SHE standards, as well as processes and systems into practical and economical solutions at our sites. We always act with an awareness of our great responsibility towards the environment and society and ensure that framework conditions are implemented and lived sustainably. We are responsible for two locations, but still one team: despite the spatial distance, we are connected by close, cross-site exchange and a strong team spirit.

Responsibilities | What to expect from you

In this role, you will take responsibility for technical plant and process safety as well as occupational safety at Roche Diagnostics through the coordination and implementation of specifications, with a focus on systematic safety assessments and explosion protection. In addition, you will undertake the following exciting tasks:

  • Safety Assessments: You coordinate and implement technical safety requirements and conduct systematic safety assessments (e.g., PAAG/HAZOP) as well as evaluations within the framework of explosion protection.
  • Consulting & Networking: You proactively advise the Business Units on complex safety technology issues and work closely with Global SHE as well as the local engineering and production teams.
  • Concept Creation: You create and review safety and explosion protection concepts and ensure their conformity with international standards and internal guidelines.
  • Economic Efficiency: When implementing safety measures, you ensure global coordination and high economic efficiency without compromising compliance.
  • Appointed Function: You perform specialist tasks as a person authorized to inspect in explosion protection, thereby contributing to the legal certainty of those responsible.
  • Process Support: You actively accompany technical solutions from the planning phase to the handover to operations and ensure seamless integration into operations.

Qualifications | What you bring to the role

  • You have successfully completed a degree (Bachelor or Master) in engineering, safety technology, electrical engineering, health management, or a comparable qualification.
  • You have several years of relevant professional experience (depending on your degree, approx. 5-8 years), ideally within the chemical industry or a comparably regulated environment.
  • You possess in-depth knowledge of the relevant regulations (e.g., ATEX, GefStoffV, BetrSichV, ProdSV) as well as the associated technical rulebooks.
  • You have sound experience in explosion protection (e.g., as a person authorized to inspect) and are proficient in conducting risk analyses.
  • You speak English at a business level and generally possess excellent communication skills. As a team player, you are able to work effectively with various stakeholders and convey complex relationships in an understandable way.
  • You act as an expert across locations; you view potential business trips, primarily between Mannheim and Penzberg, as an enrichment.
