A leading engineering consultancy with an international client base is seeking a Head of Delivery Management to join its UK leadership team, which is based predominantly from their London HQ; hybrid working and UK travel are an essential part of the role's demands.

What you'll do: As Head of Delivery Management, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of consulting services within the UK market. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve building trusted relationships with key stakeholders to strengthen client partnerships while actively identifying opportunities for business growth. Other key areas of the role are:
Ensure ongoing client satisfaction and identify new opportunities for account growth. Support business development activities by participating in client meetings, prospecting initiatives and networking events that expand service reach. Lead complex pre-sales activities including preparation of technical and commercial proposals that align with client needs and market trends. Analyse market dynamics such as competitor activity and emerging technologies to uncover new business avenues for expansion. Ensure successful delivery of consulting assignments across multiple client accounts by monitoring project performance, customer satisfaction, quality standards and resource utilisation. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across delivery processes and methodologies to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness. Manage risks, issues and escalations affecting project delivery while supporting the implementation of best practices throughout the organisation. Lead and develop a team of Project Leaders and Delivery Managers by providing coaching, mentoring and performance management support. Ensure effective workforce planning and resource allocation across projects through participation in recruitment activities including interviewing and selection of consultants. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and operational excellence while managing project profitability, revenue recognition alongside finance teams, budgeting, forecasting and compliance with company governance.
What you bring: The ideal Head of Delivery candidate will bring a blend of technical expertise, academic achievement and practical experience gained from consulting engineering services or project delivery environments. Your background should include demonstrable experience of managing client relationships and overseeing delivery teams while facing clients with a strong engineering or technical focus, leading multidisciplinary teams where collaboration, empathy and responsiveness were central to achieving results. Sector-specific experience such as supply chain, engineering, quality or project management could add valuable perspective to your application, while previous exposure to engineering consultancy or professional services environments is highly desirable for this company, especially if accompanied by financial oversight capabilities like P&L budget management or commercial performance tracking. Formal project management certification is welcomed but not essential; what matters most is your commitment to nurturing talent supporting collaborative success and contributing positively within a team dynamic.

Minimum 5 years' experience in consulting, engineering services or project delivery environments. Proven experience managing client relationships and delivery teams. Strong commercial awareness coupled with business development capability. Experience leading multidisciplinary teams with a collaborative approach to achieving shared goals. Excellent stakeholder management skills combined with clear communication abilities. Strong organisational skills paired with problem-solving abilities Experience within Supply Chain Quality or Project Management is desirable. Previous experience within an engineering consultancy or professional services environment further enhances your suitability for this position. Experience managing P&L budgets or commercial performance, demonstrating financial acumen relevant to operational oversight. Project Management certification (APM PMP Prince2 or equivalent) is advantageous for formalised project control.
