Junior Business Controller

For our client, a renowned international company with Belgian roots, we are looking for a Junior Business Controller (m/f/x) to strengthen the finance team.
Your role
As a Junior Business Controller, you report directly to the Finance Director and play a crucial role in supporting the financial performance of the organization. You combine financial expertise with business insight and work closely with various departments.
Your responsibilities include:
- Supporting the annual budget and forecasting process;
- Consolidating, analyzing, and monitoring budgets, forecasts, and financial plans;
- Preparing monthly and year-end closings;
- Analyzing variances between actual results, budgets, and previous years;
- Identifying risks and opportunities and formulating recommendations;
- Monitoring margins, personnel costs, operational costs, working capital, and investments;
- Preparing periodic financial reports for management and international stakeholders;
- Performing financial analyses and translating figures into actionable business insights;
- Acting as a financial sparring partner for business managers and department heads;
- Evaluating new projects, investments, and strategic initiatives from a financial perspective;
- Assisting with financial presentations for management;
- Continuously optimizing reporting tools, processes, and analyses;
- Assisting with audits and internal control processes;
- Supporting the finance department in operational activities where necessary.
Your profile
- You hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or an economic field;
- You have at least 2 years of experience within controlling or finance;
- Experience within retail, fashion, or consumer goods is a plus;
- You have strong analytical skills and are able to translate figures into concrete insights;
- You work accurately and have an eye for detail;
- You have strong communication skills and build smooth relationships with various stakeholders;
- You like to take ownership and work independently;
- You communicate fluently in English. Knowledge of Dutch is a plus, but not a requirement.
