Controlling Manager

For an international organization with activities in multiple European countries and expanding worldwide, Robert Half is looking for a Controlling Manager (M/F/X). This is for Central Europe.

The company is active within the food industry and the place of employment is the Deinze region.

In this strategic role, you act as a financial sparring partner for the commercial organization and regional management. You provide in-depth analyses and management information to support decision-making and contribute directly to the financial performance and sustainable growth of the company.

You are at the head of the Central Europe controlling team and directly manage 5 Controllers both domestically and abroad, supplemented by two indirect reporting lines. Additionally, you play a central role in regional reporting, transversal projects, and the further professionalization of processes and systems.

Tasks and responsibilities:

As Controlling Manager (M/F/X), you are responsible for both commercial and operational controlling, with a pronounced business partnering focus.

Your responsibilities include, among others:

• Financial sparring partner for commercial departments and business units, including customer analyses and profitability studies;
• Supporting the regional management team with reporting at the Central Europe level, consolidation figures, presentation preparation, and in-depth financial analyses;
• Translating financial results into concrete action points for the business;
• Limited involvement in month-end closings of Belgian entities in close cooperation with accounting;
• Drafting and analyzing cost structures and efficiency improvements;
• Monitoring and reporting on operational and financial KPI's;
• Coordinating budget and forecast cycles and critically challenging the business;
• Participation in regional EMEA projects and ad-hoc analyses;
• Leading and developing the controlling team in Central Europe;
• Supporting the further rollout and optimization of Microsoft 365 and other digital tools;
• Collaborating on process improvements and further harmonization of ERP landscapes.

Profile:

• You possess extensive experience in both commercial and production-oriented controlling. A minimum of 8 years of experience within controlling and/or external audit is targeted;
• You are hands-on, dynamic, and feel comfortable in a continuously changing environment;
• You have experience with complex environments with multiple ERP systems;
• You are a coaching leader who provides direction to teams and develops employees;
• You dare to critically challenge the management team and provide strategic advice;
• You possess strong analytical skills and a pragmatic approach;
• You can work independently and manage multiple priorities;
• You are result-oriented and proactive;
• The duration of the onboarding period does not deter you and you are willing to undergo thorough training;
• A very good knowledge of English is required. Knowledge of French is a nice plus;
• Knowledge of Microsoft 365 is a plus.
