About the company

We are looking for a hands-on Software Engineer with strong experience in C# and .NET to design, develop, maintain and enhance business applications. The role will focus on software development, database programming and API integration, working on existing systems as well as developing new solutions to support the company's evolving technology needs.

Your tasks

• Design, develop, test and maintain applications using C# and .NET.
• Build and enhance web applications, APIs and system interfaces to support business requirements.
• Develop and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures and database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server.
• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve application defects and performance issues.
• Integrate applications with internal and external systems using APIs and web services, including REST and SOAP.
• Review existing applications and identify opportunities to improve code quality, performance, reliability and maintainability.
• Participate in technical design, code reviews, testing and deployment activities.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation for applications, interfaces and system changes.
• Ensure solutions follow established coding standards, security practices and relevant IT governance requirements.

Requirements

The ideal candidate is technically strong, enjoys solving problems through code and is comfortable working across the full software development lifecycle.

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• 5–10 years of hands-on software development experience.
• Strong programming experience in C# and .NET.
• Solid experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including SQL queries, database design and stored procedures.
• Experience developing web applications and APIs, with knowledge of REST and SOAP web services.
• Good understanding of software development principles, application architecture, debugging and testing.
• Experience integrating applications with databases and other systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to code quality and technical detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage development tasks and deliver solutions within agreed timelines.
• Insurance or financial services industry experience would be an advantage.
