PhD - Physical Understanding of Design Elements in SiC Power MOSFETs (Specialist - Market Research)
Job Title: PhD - Physical Understanding of Design Elements in SiC Power MOSFETs
Job Description: Actively shape the future of energy and automotive technology by reducing CO₂ emissions and conserving resources. Novel semiconductor components are being used in power electronics for electric drives, the development of which you will help drive forward. Are you ready to realize the next generation of energy-efficient systems using Wide-Bandgap materials such as Silicon Carbide (SiC) and thus make a real difference?
- As part of our team, you will develop and simulate precise Wide-Bandgap power components as well as test structures.
- Using modern TCAD simulations, you will analyze the physical properties of the components in great detail.
- You will manufacture power components and test structures in the Bosch-owned research cleanroom.
- You will comprehensively investigate and characterize the manufactured components with regard to their electrical and physical properties.
- In doing so, you will build a deep understanding of the interplay between electrical properties and TCAD simulations.
- Based on the characterization results, you will continuously optimize and calibrate the simulation models.
Qualifications:
- Education: completed studies (Master/Diplom) in the field of Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable discipline with excellent academic performance
- Experience and Know-how: very good knowledge of solid-state and power semiconductor physics and technology; experience in semiconductor modeling; expertise in the field of Wide-Bandgap or III-V semiconductors is desirable
- Personality and Working Style: You analyze complex relationships in a structured and far-sighted manner to develop well-founded and goal-oriented solutions; in doing so, you contribute your own ideas, represent them convincingly, and maintain an overview even in challenging situations; trustworthy cooperation within the team is a matter of course for you and an important success factor
- Languages: business fluent English in speaking and writing; German skills are desirable
