Senior Android Engineer - Mobile Team Lead
- Purpose of the Position
The position holder is responsible for the architecture, development and delivery of the Company's Android applications, and for the technical leadership of the mobile engineering team. The role requires autonomous technical decision-making on system design, security and performance, and constitutes highly qualified employment within the meaning of Article 45 of the amended Law of 29 August 2008 on the free movement of persons and immigration.
- Tasks and Responsibilities
Software engineering services, including:
- Design, implement and maintain software interface and infrastructure components;
- Design and perform regular performance and reliability analyses;
- Monitor system and application metrics;
- Collaborate with product, R&D operations and development teams;
- Design and implement unit and functional testing;
- Perform design and code reviews;
- Perform other software engineering services at the Company's reasonable request.
Technical leadership responsibilities:
- Define and maintain the architecture of the Company's Android applications, ensuring scalability, maintainability and compliance with security requirements;
- Lead the mobile engineering team, including recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, task allocation and workload planning;
- Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines, release management and code quality standards;
- Take ownership of application stability, crash-free rate and performance optimisation;
- Deliver mobile products from initial concept through to production release;
- Apply secure mobile development practices, including secure key handling and data protection by design, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).
- Required Qualifications
- Higher education qualification of at least three years' duration in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline (Master's degree level or equivalent), duly recognised in accordance with Luxembourg legislation;
- Minimum five years of professional experience in Android software development, of which at least two years in a technical lead or equivalent senior ownership position;
- Advanced command of Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Room, Hilt/Dagger and Retrofit;
- Proven experience designing and implementing Android application architecture for production systems;
- Demonstrated experience establishing CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and code review processes;
- Demonstrated track record of delivering mobile applications from inception to production at scale;
- Experience in application performance optimisation and stability engineering;
- Experience mentoring engineers and coordinating distributed engineering teams;
- Full professional proficiency in English.
- Assets
- Experience in fintech, Web3, DeFi or non-custodial wallet development;
- Experience with offline-first application design and data synchronisation;
- Experience integrating third-party SDKs and geospatial services;
- Agile certification (e.g. Professional Scrum Developer I, Professional Agile Leadership I).
Compensation: €65K – €100K / year Annual gross salary
