The difference you’ll make as a Estate Services Operative-Bulk Waste Driver
You will attend various sites owned and managed by The Riverside Group to maintain and monitor communal and external spaces, including the safe collection, loading, transportation and removal of bulk waste and fly-tipped items.
About you
We are looking for someone with:
- You will need a full UK drivers licence
- Appropriate competency-based training and experience.
- Knowledge and experience of the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Awareness of risk assessment, including risks to residents, colleagues and members of the public during operations.
- Understanding of safe manual handling practices when collecting, loading and moving bulk waste.

Role Profile
- Attend allocated sites and carry out scheduled bulk waste collections.
- Clear fly-tipped rubbish and other waste from allocated sites where required.
- Keep car parks, bin stores and communal external areas clear and tidy as part of bulk waste operations.
- Clear bin areas where required following missed collections.
- Safely load, secure, transport and unload bulk waste using the company vehicle and equipment provided.
- Drive the allocated company vehicle between sites to undertake scheduled bulk waste collections and operational duties.
- Carry out required vehicle checks and report any vehicle defects or safety concerns in accordance with Riverside procedures.
- Use appropriate manual handling techniques, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and equipment when collecting and moving bulk waste.
- Report all site-related matters to management, including health and safety concerns and issues affecting the condition or maintenance of the site.
- Maintain positive and professional relationships with residents, customers and colleagues at all times.
- Provide cover for colleagues during periods of sickness or annual leave. This may include undertaking additional reasonable duties as required.
- Follow relevant health and safety procedures and safe systems of work and use the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
- Appropriate competency-based training and experience.
- Knowledge and experience of the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Awareness of risk assessment, including risks to residents, colleagues and members of the public during operations.
- Understanding of safe manual handling practices when collecting, loading and moving bulk waste.
- A valid driving license is appropriate for the vehicle being driven.
- Ability to safely operate the allocated company vehicle and undertake basic vehicle safety checks.
- Ability to safely load, secure and transport bulk waste, equipment and materials.
- Understanding relevant health and safety requirements when carrying out bulk waste operations.
- You will need a full UK drivers licence
