Handyman / Maintenance Operative, 15ph + Hol pay Temporary Position | Single Site Location | Tools Provided

We are currently seeking a proactive and multi-skilled Maintenance Operative to join a residential apartment building in Sheffield city centre. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced handyman or maintenance professional looking to work in a fast-paced environment where delivering an excellent resident experience is key.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring maintenance and repair requests are completed efficiently and to a high standard, helping to maintain a safe, compliant, and well-presented living environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to maintenance requests through internal reporting systems.
• Carry out a range of general maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing, decorating, and joinery repairs.
• Assist with both reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes.
• Conduct routine inspections of bedrooms, communal areas, and building facilities.
• Identify and rectify maintenance defects while proactively addressing health and safety concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance checks.
• Provide a professional, friendly, and customer-focused service to residents.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors, and residents to ensure works are completed efficiently.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a Maintenance, Handyman, or Trade-based role.
• Strong practical skills across a variety of general maintenance disciplines.
• Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and manage workload effectively.
• A reliable, self-motivated individual who takes pride in their work and demonstrates a strong sense of ownership.
