Software Integration Engineer
Must-have:JavaScriptNode.jsGitDockerBackend
Your tasks
We are seeking a Software Integration Engineer to bridge physical data acquisition hardware with our central software systems. In this role, you will develop and maintain backend applications in Node.js that communicate directly with wired DAQ units and wireless gateways using TCP, UDP, MQTT, and WebSockets. You will handle incoming telemetry, parse custom payloads, and interface field data with SCADA systems using Modbus protocols to ensure robust, real-time industrial monitoring.
- Backend Gateway Integration: Design, develop, and maintain Node.js backend services to receive data from wireless gateways and wired DAQs via network protocols (TCP, UDP, MQTT, and WebSockets).
- Protocol & Data Processing: Implement robust socket and message-broker handling to parse data streams, manage device connections, and ensure reliable telemetry delivery.
- SCADA & Modbus Integration: Interface the backend architecture and field data with SCADA systems using Modbus (RTU/TCP) for seamless supervisory control and monitoring.
- API & System Architecture: Build APIs or event-driven pipelines to route device data into databases, visualization dashboards, or alert systems.
- Testing & Debugging: Troubleshoot network-level communication issues, packet loss, socket drops, and device handshakes between field hardware and backend servers.
- Documentation: Document network configurations, payload schemas, API endpoints, and connection workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript (Node.js) with deep familiarity with network programming using built-in or third-party libraries for TCP/IP sockets, UDP datagrams, MQTT, and WebSockets.
- Solid understanding of Modbus (TCP/RTU), MQTT brokers, and serial communication standards.
- Ability to read hardware datasheets, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals for field instruments and DAQ systems.
- Familiarity with handling JSON/binary payloads and time-series data.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Haves)
- Experience with industrial automation, PLC programming, or SCADA software packages.
- Proficiency with Git version control, Linux environments, and containerization tools (Docker).
