*Rite-Way Renovations & Restoration* is an established company in the disaster restoration and construction industry. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced *Accountant* to take ownership of the day-to-day operations of our accounting system and help ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, dependable, and comfortable managing the full accounting cycle in a project-based environment.
_*Key Responsibilities*_
- Manage *Accounts Receivable*, including invoicing in accordance with company procedures, issuing customer statements, following up on outstanding balances, and processing approved credit memos.
- Maintain the company's master job/project list.
- Manage *Accounts Payable*, including entering receipts and vendor invoices, ensuring proper coding and documentation, and reconciling vendor statements.
- Process *bi-weekly payroll*, including entering/uploading hours, verifying payroll information, and ensuring accurate processing.
- Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly.
- Prepare monthly financial and management reports.
- Accurately allocate revenue and expenses by project/job, class/department, and location.
- Ensure applicable government tax filings and remittances are accurate and completed on time.
- Maintain accurate accounting records for capital assets, loans, and leases.
- Prepare adjusting entries, including amortization/depreciation, tax accruals, prepaid expenses, and other period-end adjustments.
- Maintain and accurately allocate employee benefits through the payroll system.
- Support the ongoing accuracy and integrity of the company's accounting records and processes.
_*Requirements*_
*Must Have:*
- Strong full-cycle accounting experience.
- Advanced proficiency with *QuickBooks Online (QBO)* and *QuickBooks Enterprise*.
- Strong proficiency with *Microsoft Office*, particularly Excel.
- CPA designation, *or* an equivalent combination of relevant accounting experience and an accounting diploma from an accredited educational institution.
- Strong understanding of Canadian accounting, payroll, and tax compliance requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the accounting function.
*Assets*
- Bilingualism in English and French.
- Previous accounting experience in the *construction, restoration, or project-based service industry*.
- Experience with job costing and project-based revenue and expense allocation.

Work Arrangement
This is a *full-time position* with a combination of office and remote work depending on the needs and requirements of the company's daily operations.
Pay: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
