System Design Engineer

This company design and build advanced electronic products used in aerospace and defence as well as industrial and transportation markets. Due to continued investment and ongoing demand, they are now looking to add to their Design Engineering team.

Your tasks

In this role you will analyse customer documentation, capture requirements, produce system design specifications and architectural diagrams, and support bids and cost estimates. You will also generate BOMs within ERP, create FAT and design proving documentation, and support environmental and EMC qualification at external test houses.

• Cradle-to-grave systems design on safety-critical electronic products
• Requirements capture, system specs, architectural diagrams and design documentation
• BOM generation in ERP plus proving, FAT, compliance and qualification reporting
• Support environmental and EMC testing (some UK travel to test houses)
• Site-based role on a 4-day week (Mon-Thu, 7:15am-5:30pm)

Requirements

Are you a Systems Design Engineer, Systems Engineer or Design Engineer looking for a technically interesting role where you can own projects from requirements through to compliance and qualification, within a business that actively invests in its people and facilities?

This role would suit a Systems Design Engineer with experience delivering small-to-medium development projects, looking for long-term technical development, increased responsibility, and the chance to work cradle-to-grave on safety-critical products.

The Person

• Experience in systems engineering on small-to-medium development projects
• Comfortable producing structured documentation and supporting multi-discipline design activity
• Knowledge of SolidWorks and Altium beneficial

What we offer

£45,000 - £50,000 + 4-Day Week + Bonus + Technical Development + Training + Long-Term Stability
