Junior Field / Installation Engineer (Full Training)

About the company

This is a permanent position with a well-established technology business where you will receive full on the job training, including time at their head office and shadowing experienced engineers, typically becoming fully trained within around 3 months.

This company manufacture, supply, install and commission a range of technical solutions into commercial facilities such as schools, shops, and hospitals. They have been established for over 10 years and grown to have a strong workforce of over 100 staff. They are privately owned and have a real family feel where everyone is valued, and flexibility is encouraged.

Your tasks

In this role you will travel to customer sites across Surrey / Sussex (typically within a sensible travel radius), carrying out installations of hardware and software, configuring systems on existing networks and delivering face to face user training. You'll also support with preparing job packs, imaging systems and assisting with software testing.

• Field-based installation of hardware / software solutions at customer sites
• Configuring systems and integrating into existing customer networks
• Delivering customer training on-site
• Permanent role, 40-hour week, travel with occasional overnight stays

Requirements

Are you a hands-on Engineer from an IT / Telecoms / Security / Networking background looking for a junior role where you will be fully trained and properly supported to build a long-term career? Do you want a customer facing position where you'll be developed into a fully competent Field Engineer, with a clear route to a Senior Engineer role?

This role would suit a junior Field Engineer / Installation Engineer with a good technical understanding of Windows and basic networking, who is keen to learn, enjoys dealing with customers and wants long-term development and progression.

The Person

• Hands-on, IT savvy Engineer (telecoms / security / networking / access control / data cabling / electrical background)
• Good understanding of Windows desktop/server and common networking (e.g. Cat5/6, switches)
• Confident, professional communicator who enjoys customer-facing work and learning new systems

What we offer

£30,000 (OTE £33,000) + Van + Fuel Card + Full Training + Progression + No Callout + No Weekend Work
