RISE SAFETY - Fire Research is in an expansive phase and is seeking a new employee. The focus is on risk management and maritime fire protection. We are over 140 employees working with fire and risk management through research, safety engineering dimensioning, and testing. We are located in various places in Sweden and Norway, but most of us are in Borås - it is primarily here that we are currently seeking reinforcement. We are looking for an experienced fire engineer or civil engineer with good experience working in large projects.
RISE Fire Research will start an EU-funded research project in the field of fire protection and risk management for ships. We need to strengthen our team with skilled and experienced engineers who can assist the project manager with both technical and coordinating work. Therefore, you should have some experience working in large projects and be able to lead sub-projects. The focus of the research project involves new challenges and solutions on ships, where our international acceptance, knowledge, and experience in the field are important for the industry and for our authorities. In addition to working in the EU project, you will work on other research and testing assignments that touch upon many exciting parts of the fire field. You will primarily work with long-term assignments that often involve risk assessment, fire testing, and calculations/simulations.
Who are you? The person applying for the position is primarily an experienced engineer specializing in fire and risk management or has worked for several years in a relevant field. Experience with EU projects is a merit. You will become part of a team that works together within maritime fire protection and with internal specialized expertise in various areas. We handle international contacts and write most of our documents in English, which is why it is important that you are proficient in English, both spoken and written.
At RISE Fire Research, we offer a creative environment with many exciting projects at the interface between research and industry. There are great opportunities for competence development and further training, both internally and externally.
We are looking for someone who enjoys varied and analytical work. You need to have a good ability to familiarize yourself with new issues, you are goal-oriented, and you have a structured way of working. To succeed in the role, it is also a prerequisite that you enjoy developing and creating relationships, both internally and with customers. This means you have social skills and an interest in other people.
If this sounds exciting and you want to know more, you are welcome to contact Michael Rahm, Section Manager Fire Dynamics, 010-516 55 09. The last application date is February 28, 2019, but interviews will take place continuously during the application period.
Our union representatives are Linda Ikatti, Unionen, 010-516 51 61 and Lazaros Tsantaridis, SACO, 010-516 62 21.
