Director General of the Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority
Job duties: The Government Office's competence center for top managers announces a public competition for the position of Director General of the Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority. The Consumer Protection and Technical Regulatory Authority (TTJA) is responsible for safety supervision, market regulation, and monitoring compliance with statutory requirements in the fields of electronic communications, media services, railway, radiation and nuclear safety, buildings and infrastructure, energy efficiency, safety of equipment and products, and consumer rights. The main challenges of the authority in the coming years are: • enabling fast and safe railway infrastructure for users; • accelerating the processes of starting production and establishing infrastructure for defense industry enterprises; • launching a competent institution for radiation and nuclear safety; • increasing capacity in ensuring security during crisis situations (communications infrastructure, critical industrial enterprises, radiation and railway safety, secure internet environment); • promoting the availability of fast internet connections; • increasing the capacity for measuring and resolving radio interference; • improving supervision and dispute resolution capacity under conditions of limited resources; • updating the authority's information systems and services.

Other requirements: Requirements for the candidate:
- master's degree or equivalent level of education; • at least 5 years of experience in managing a structural unit or organization; • English language proficiency at least at C1 level; • competencies according to the competence model for top managers in the public service (see https://tippjuhid.riigikantselei.ee/kompetentsimudel). A preferred candidate has: • very good substantive knowledge of the current state of the authority's fields of activity, as well as national and international development trends; • experience working in both the public and private sectors; • the ability to organize cooperation between various institutions, organizations, and interest groups, including at the international level. We expect the candidate to have a state secret access permit or the readiness to apply for one.
