Forklift Operator
Right Now Group are currently recruiting for experienced Forklift Operatives to join our client's busy operation based near Heathrow. These are exciting permanent opportunities for experienced warehouse professionals looking to build a long-term career within the aviation and freight logistics industry. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced aviation warehouse environment, where you will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling, movement, loading and unloading of freight. The successful candidates will play an important role in maintaining operational efficiency, ensuring cargo is handled securely and supporting the smooth running of the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities of a Forklift Operative Operate forklift equipment safely and efficiently in line with company procedures and Health & Safety requirements. Load and unload freight accurately and safely, ensuring goods are handled with care throughout the process. Move, position and store aviation cargo within the warehouse in accordance with operational requirements. Handle, check and inspect incoming and outgoing freight, ensuring quantities, condition and relevant documentation are correct. Support the day-to-day warehouse operation, assisting with the movement and processing of freight to meet operational deadlines. Operate X-ray equipment following successful completion of the required training and company procedures. Ensure all freight is handled, stored and secured correctly, maintaining a high standard of care and security. Complete relevant warehouse documentation and ensure operational records are accurate and up to date. Follow all site security, Health & Safety and operational procedures, reporting any hazards or issues promptly. Work closely with warehouse colleagues, supervisors and the wider operations team to maintain an efficient workflow. Assist with additional warehouse duties when required to support the smooth running of the operation. Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment at all times.
Skills & Experience Required for a Forklift Operative Minimum of 2 years' previous experience working within an aviation warehouse or freight logistics environment. Valid forklift licence with the ability to operate equipment safely and confidently. Previous experience handling, loading and unloading freight within a busy warehouse operation. Experience working within aviation cargo, freight handling or logistics would be essential to the role. Previous X-ray experience would be advantageous, although full training can be provided.
Salary £29,500 + 20% shift premium Additional earning opportunity £3,000 salary increase upon successful completion of X-ray training.
Working Hours: Friday - Monday | 44 hours
