Export Gateway Operator

Right Now Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Export Gateway Operator on behalf of an established freight forwarding business based in Feltham, near London Heathrow .

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and fast-paced Gateway operation, taking responsibility for the smooth and efficient coordination of export shipments. The successful candidate will oversee shipment processes including consolidations and airline allocations, ensure all export documentation is completed accurately, and process customs entries in line with relevant requirements.

Key Responsibilities of an Export Gateway Operator

• Coordinate the day-to-day movement and processing of export air freight shipments.
• Communicate proactively with internal teams, customers and external partners via email and telephone.
• Liaise with local and international Operations teams to ensure shipments are processed efficiently and customer requirements are met.
• Oversee shipment processes, including consolidations and airline allocations.
• Monitor shipments and proactively identify, troubleshoot and resolve operational issues.
• Ensure shipments are handled accurately and within required operational timeframes.
• Prepare, check and complete export documentation in line with specific commodity and country requirements.
• Process customs entries accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Take responsibility for shipment costing and associated financial and administrative tasks.
• Maintain accurate and high-quality operational data across all shipment records.
• Ensure all operational tasks are completed accurately and in accordance with company procedures.
• Provide a high level of customer service and proactively communicate any operational issues or changes.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues across the wider business to ensure a smooth export operation.

Skills & Experience Required for an Export Gateway Operator

• Minimum of 2 years' experience within Export Air Freight .
• Previous experience within an export gateway or air freight operational environment.
• Experience processing customs entries .
• Strong understanding of export air freight processes, including consolidations and airline allocations.
• Ideally, experience using CargoWise or another freight forwarding management system.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills with a commitment to delivering a high-quality service.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving with the ability to resolve operational issues quickly.
• Ability to work effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment.

Salary & Benefits for an Export Gateway Operator

• Salary between £32,000 - £35,000 , depending on experience
• Monday - Friday.
• Working hours 09:00-17:30 .
• Based in Feltham , near Heathrow.
