Air Freight Operator
Right Now Group are currently recruiting for an experienced Air Freight Operator to join a medium-sized Freight Forwarder based in Heathrow , working within their specialist Time Critical / AOG Team .
This is an excellent opportunity for an Air Freight professional with Export experience and knowledge of Time Critical or AOG shipments. You will be responsible for coordinating and executing urgent and sensitive air freight movements, ensuring shipments are managed efficiently and demanding customer requirements are met within strict deadlines.
Key Responsibilities of an Air Freight Operator
- Coordinate urgent Time Critical and AOG air freight shipments, including arranging collections and deliveries with vendors.
- Prepare and process air freight documentation, including MAWBs, HAWBs and Import/Export customs entries in accordance with UK HMRC regulations.
- Monitor live AOG movements, post flights and provide accurate shipment updates throughout the operation.
- Manage shared email inboxes and respond promptly to customer, supplier and internal operational queries.
- Complete job file invoicing, monitor costs and ensure customer invoices are processed accurately and on time.
- Investigate operational issues and complaints, identifying alternative solutions where required to meet customer deadlines.
The Successful Air Freight Operator
- Minimum of 12 months' previous Air Export experience.
- Knowledge of AOG, Time Critical services or urgent freight solutions.
- Good understanding of Air Freight documentation and UK customs procedures.
- Proactive and efficient approach with the ability to work effectively within a time-sensitive operation.
- Excellent IT, communication and organisational skills.
- Full 5-year checkable work history and ability to complete the required Criminal Record Check.
Air Freight Operator Salary & Benefits
- Salary of £35,000 - £40,000 , depending on experience, plus 10% shift allowance , giving total earnings of £38,500 - £44,000 .
- 4 on 4 off Days , working 07:00 - 19:00 .
- Quarterly performance bonus following successful completion of probation, currently ranging from £1,000 - £2,500 per quarter , subject to company performance.
