Network and Service Architect (m/f/d) Satellite Communication SPACE

In the context of modern Multi-Domain Operations (MDO), space is an integral part of military planning and command as an independent and decisive operational domain. Core capabilities such as satellite-based communication and imaging/signal intelligence reconnaissance are the prerequisites for information superiority and effective command support. Robust, timely acquisition, distribution, and utilization of information are essential for the ability to act and enforce the capabilities of armed forces in combined arms combat.

• Development of the network and service architecture (service models, management, monitoring, provisioning, Quality of Service)
• Definition of service levels and operational requirements including interfaces to operations/service providers
• Technical evaluation of network management tools, architectures, and partner offers including the creation of decision documents
• Determination of the end-to-end service chain from the user segment to the network and service segment including security aspects
• Supporting operational model assumptions, effort, risks, and cost impacts
• Accompanying software adaptations and API developments in the network/service context
• Interface management with hardware relevance such as gateways, modems, terminals, and network components including interoperability and integration specifications
• Deriving and specifying required functional and non-functional software and hardware adaptations as a basis for implementation, integration, and acceptance

• Successfully completed studies in the field of computer science, communications engineering, or comparable
• Many years of experience working with network/service architecture, ideally carrier-grade or in security-critical topics
• Understanding of service management, observability/telemetry, network design, Quality of Service
• The ability to translate technical requirements into operable concepts
• Proficient English skills in speaking and writing

The position is to be filled at our location in Bremen and can be performed hybridly, whereby regular on-site presence is required.
