Chief Engineer Network Architecture SatCom (m/f/d)

As Chief Engineer Network Architecture SatCom (m/f/d), you will assume technical responsibility for the forward-looking network and system architecture of SatComBw4. Your focus will be on designing the network architecture and the system-side integration of satellite-specific components into a military communication system.

The following activities await you:

• Design and approval of architecture decisions and interface specifications within the program
• Integration of ground and payload segments at the system level as well as evaluation of the technical contributions of partners (m/f/d)
• Coordination and joint maintenance of the interface between the satellite-based and the terrestrial tactical network architecture
• Technical representation towards clients, testing agencies, and partners (m/f/d)
• Evaluation of technical risks regarding availability, quality of service, behavior under interference, and scaling
• Technical leadership of the engineers assigned to the program (m/f/d)
• System-side evaluation of waveform and payload options in cooperation with the responsible Systems Engineering

• Completed studies in communications engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a comparable field
• Many years of professional experience in the field of distributed network and system architectures as well as several years of experience in an architecture-responsible role
• Demonstrable experience in the successful implementation of architectures in wide-area, carrier, or operator networks
• Sound system understanding of satellite links and their impact on network design
• Experience with systems involving formal verification, certification, or accreditation requirements
• Experience in the field of military satellite communications or with satellite ground segments is an advantage
• Very good written and spoken English skills as well as good German skills are an advantage
• High communication and assertiveness skills in cooperation with various stakeholders as well as a confident demeanor
• Willingness to travel
