Your tasks

Bring in your passion: As a Category Buyer (m/w/d), support the Senior Category Buyer in the procurement of our assortments, while together with us, you help build the new brick-and-mortar ZooRoyal specialty store chain and further develop the pet food assortments in the national and international sales channels of the REWE Group (including REWE, PENNY, Toom Baumarkt, ZooRoyal, Billa, PENNY International).

What you will move with us - You demonstrate operational excellence in purchasing for a defined category: at the supplier, procurement, and quality levels. In doing so, you represent and continuously support the Senior Category Buyer in all purchasing activities as required.

- You independently conduct tenders, supplier negotiations, and annual reviews.

- You coordinate the further development of the assortment for the ZooRoyal specialty stores.

**Your analytical skills will not be neglected: Through market observation and analysis of the competition regarding the assortment and market prices, including trend scouting to identify product innovations.

- You are responsible for the development and implementation of measures for assortment and price optimization.

- You keep an eye on everything: Together with the team members, you ensure the careful and complete maintenance of all data (master data, conditions, sales-relevant data) as well as product availability.

- You are a competent contact person: You ensure comprehensive and regular coordination with internal and external interfaces.

Requirements

- Relevant product and market knowledge in the pet specialty retail sector is necessary.

- A successfully completed degree with a focus on economics.

**Relevant professional experience in purchasing/Category Management, preferably in a retail or industrial environment.

- You have very good MS Office skills – especially Excel, as well as good knowledge in handling ERP systems and Data Warehouse.

- Your business fluent English skills.

- Initial experience in an international procurement environment.
