Hose Assembly
Your tasks
- Fabricate and assemble hydraulic and industrial hoses according to job specifications
- Select the correct hoses, fittings and ferrules for each job
- Perform hose cutting, skiving (where required) and crimping
- Operate hose cutting machines, crimping machines, compressors and related equipment
- Set machine parameters such as cut length, crimp diameter and pressure settings
- Read job orders, technical drawings and specifications
- Measure hose length, diameter and tolerances using measuring tools such as callipers and measuring tape
- Inspect completed hose assemblies for defects, leaks and incorrect crimping
- Carry out pressure testing where required
- Perform routine machine checks and basic troubleshooting
- Record production measurements and test results
- Assist with inventory control for hoses, fittings and consumables
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop/warehouse
- Support general warehouse activities when required
Requirements
- Diploma, NITEC or Technical Certification in Mechanical, Engineering or a related field preferred
- 2–5 years of experience in hose fabrication or a similar industrial environment
- Hands-on experience operating hose cutting and crimping machines
- Good knowledge of hose types, fittings and measurement tools
- Able to read technical drawings and specifications
- Good attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a hands-on environment
- Able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Willing to work shifts and overtime when required
