Your tasks You ensure that the plants are monitored and controllable at all times (monitoring, secure remote access) and, in doing so, you will also take part in on-call duty on a rotational basis with the team.
You implement secure connectivity and remote access solutions and keep them running (VPN/ZTNA, Multi-WAN-Failover).
You set up critical services on Linux and Windows target systems, configure them, and update them regularly.
You optimize and maintain the deployment processes (CI/CD) for over-the-air updates in the field.
You diagnose and resolve connection and connectivity problems of the plants and proactively improve the diagnostic and monitoring tools.
You monitor and secure the data pipelines for an uninterrupted data flow from the field.
Your profile You have completed vocational training or, ideally, a degree in computer science. You bring several years of professional experience in the operation of Edge, Embedded, or OT systems, ideally in the energy, plant, or industrial environment. You have experience with Linux or Windows as well as scripting in both environments (Bash and PowerShell). You have experience in Edge deployment, i.e., the setup, configuration, and regular updating of critical services on plant hardware, fully automated and remotely (e.g., with Ansible). Experience in the remote rollout of updates for TwinCAT software in the field is an advantage. You bring practical experience with remote access concepts (VPN, ZTNA), mobile connectivity (LTE/5G routers, APN configuration), and dealing with unstable or bandwidth-limited connections. Ideally, you have solid fundamentals in network technology (TCP/IP, routing, NAT, firewalls, DNS) and can independently diagnose typical connection and connectivity problems (e.g., with tcpdump, ip, ss). Experience with containerization, especially Docker and Docker Compose, as well as the operation of containerized services on Edge devices, is an advantage. You are familiar with CI/CD processes and version control (e.g., Git and GitLab CI). You bring a strong security awareness. You take strong ownership of your own area of responsibility and work independently. You have very good English skills (at least C1).
