Manager, Manufacturing Master Data
The Manufacturing Master Data Manager plays a critical role in data discovery, governance, solution design, quality measurement, and issue resolution across manufacturing and supply chain data domains. This role requires a deep understanding of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Manufacturing Execution Process (MEP) design, and how manufacturing data, work orders, routings, BOMs, genealogy, and quality transactions integrates with upstream ERP master data. The role translates user stories from plant operations and manufacturing stakeholders into detailed data analysis requirements, and works collaboratively across manufacturing, IT/GTS, and supply chain teams to ensure data quality and drive successful implementation of transformative solutions.
Let’s talk about Responsibilities
Solution Portfolio and Multi-Squad Delivery
- Lead multiple cross-functional squads to translate business and user needs into clear use cases, requirements, delivery plans, and measures of success
- Own and manage the portfolio and integrated roadmap for manufacturing master data solutions, partnering with value stream owners, the Manufacturing Excellence PMO, and transformation leaders on prioritization, feasibility, and scalability
- Align capacity, sequencing, and dependencies across squads; maintain visibility of progress, risks, and blockers; and enable timely resolution or escalation
- Guide practical solution and integration decisions, supported by clear accountability, consistent data governance, and effective delivery practices
Data Discovery and Requirements Definition
- Conduct thorough data discovery across MES and ERP systems to identify key data sources and understand the current manufacturing data landscape
- Collaborate with manufacturing and plant operations stakeholders to gather and analyze business requirements from a data readiness perspective, including line setup, work order release, and production reporting
- Identify and develop business processes with process owners related to the creation/maintenance of critical MEP data elements (routings, BOMs, work orders, genealogy/traceability records)
- Identify root causes of MES/MEP-related data issues (e.g., production, quality-hold, genealogy discrepancies) and develop strategies to resolve them
- Provide recommendations on system and process improvements to prevent recurring data quality issues on the manufacturing floor
- Work with GTS/ IT and business teams to troubleshoot, rectify data discrepancies and drive alignment/integration of data solutions between MES and ERP systems
- Develop and maintain documentation for MES/MEP data issue resolution processes and procedures
Data Governance & Quality Management
- Establish and implement data quality metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of MES-to-ERP data solutions
- Monitor data quality and integrity throughout the MES implementation and supply chain transformation project lifecycle, identifying and resolving data issues promptly
- Measure plan quality in terms of demand supportability and production plan recommendation stability, incorporating MES execution data Implement best practices for data governance across manufacturing execution and ensure compliance with industry standards
Value Realization
- Connect delivery and adoption to agreed operational and financial outcomes in partnership with Value Stream Owners and the Manufacturing Excellence PMO.
- Track adoption and value indicators, communicate outcomes to senior stakeholders, and surface gaps between technical completion and realized value.
Let’s talk about Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Business or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in master data management, data governance, or supply chain systems, with direct exposure to MES and MEP design or large-scale manufacturing transformation.
- Experience coordinating multiple delivery teams or squads across business, process, data and technology disciplines.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, value streams and operational improvement opportunities.
- Experience in partnering with manufacturing/plant operations teams to define data requirements supporting MEP workflows
- Familiarity with ERP platforms such as Oracle Fusion and their integration with MES platforms
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional workshops bridging technical and non-technical/manufacturing teams
- Experience establishing data quality KPIs and root-causing MES-to-ERP interface discrepancies
