Contrary to the current econo... 1 Senior Platform Engineer - IoT/Telemetry (f/m/d) Your Mission In this newly created key role, you will build the technical backbone of our IoT and data platform and connect the world of machines with cloud infrastructure. Thanks to you, telemetry data from the OT world will be reliably, continuously, and in high quality integrated, stored, and made usable. You will build developer-oriented primitives (APIs/Events/Patterns) so that product teams can use telemetry without having to replicate the complexity of OT ingestion. With your understanding of distributed systems and a strong ownership mentality, you will create stable, scalable foundations upon which our business units can deliver quickly and securely. With your expertise, our production will become more robust, efficient, and future-proof.

Your Tasks

• Construction and operation of a scalable telemetry ingestion of connector/collector services, from backpressure and validation to data quality checks
• Design and further development of a time-series storage and data platform
• Development of robust device management and OTA processes (rollout rings, version management, rollbacks, fleet inventory, etc.)
• Definition of observability standards (logs, metrics, traces), SLOs, and readiness including runbooks
• Ongoing collaboration at the OT/PLS interface with internal stakeholders as well as external partners to define system boundaries and further develop versioned data contracts
• Design and operation of retry/reprocessing mechanisms (e.g., re-import, deduplication, recovery) to ensure stable data quality

What You Bring

• Completed technical studies (e.g., Computer Science, Software Development, Data Engineering), relevant university education
• or extensive professional experience
• Several years of experience at a leadership level in backend/platform engineering with operational ownership
• Solid knowledge in Java, REST/HTTP-APIs, Docker as well as AWS and Terraform
• Expertise related to CI/CD with GitHub (GitHub Actions)
• Proven practice in telemetry/IoT ingestion, time-series storage, OTA/Fleet and/or observability pipelines
• Strong communication skills in English as well as a pronounced ability to define interfaces
