Intermodal Dispatcher

Job Summary As an Intermodal Dispatcher, you'll coordinate freight movements across road transportation and intermodal networks, keeping drivers, customers, and internal teams informed as plans change. You'll use transportation management systems, dispatch tools, and accurate data entry to support timely, organized shipping and receiving. Your impact: Clear dispatch coordination helps drivers stay aligned and enables customers to receive freight with fewer avoidable disruptions. Responsibilities Dispatch vehicles and coordinate freight pickups, deliveries, and transfers; support fleet management and road transportation operations. Track loads using GPS (Global Positioning System) and geographic information systems (GIS); update shipment details in transportation management systems, including Oracle Transportation Management when applicable. Manage multi-line phone systems, phone calls, and customer service requests with professional phone etiquette. Communicate shipment updates across internal teams, carriers, and customers; support supply chain coordination, transportation planning, and third-party logistics (3PL) activities. Complete typing, data entry, and shipment records; apply analysis skills and follow applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Experience Experience in dispatching, logistics, freight, transportation management, or shipping and receiving is valuable. Strong communication, phone communication, organizational, and customer service skills; able to manage competing priorities. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and transportation management or vehicle dispatch software is preferred; Oracle Transportation Management experience is a plus. Familiarity with GPS, GIS, fleet management, supply chain operations, and DOT regulations is helpful. Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year Benefits: Paid time off Work Location: In person
