Commissioning Engineer Marine Gearboxes Worldwide (m/f/d) (Commissioning Engineer)
Your Tasks
Electrical / control technology commissioning (approx. 80 %) as well as mechanical activities (approx. 20 %) on marine gearboxes and propulsion systems on both commercial and military vessels worldwide with +/- 180 installation days per year
Main tasks:
- Independent electrical and electronic commissioning of marine gearboxes worldwide at the customer's site (civil and military)
- Parameterization, program testing, and functional commissioning of S7 controllers (TIA Portal, Step7)
- Execution of I/O checks, signal and loop tests, bus system tests (e.g., Profinet/Profibus)
- Commissioning and parameterization of frequency converters, sensors, actuators, and protection systems
- Execution of system tests, sea trials, and technical acceptances together with customers, shipyards, and classification societies
- Error analysis and troubleshooting on PLC, HMI, drive, and network systems
- Implementation of retrofit and modernization projects (hardware and software adjustments)
Mechanical portion:
- Support with new, de-, and re-assembly work on gearboxes and auxiliary units
- Execution of setting and adjustment work
- Assessment of components according to wear criteria
- Accompanying repair and maintenance measures
Documentation:
- Creation of commissioning, measurement, and acceptance protocols
- Service reports and technical documentation
- Deployment preparation including planning of measuring instruments and tools
Your Profile
- Good PLC knowledge (S7, TIA Portal/Step7) including diagnostics and minor program changes
- Experience in drive and automation technology, FU parameterization, and fieldbus (Profinet/Profibus)
- Confident error analysis on electrical and electromechanical systems
- Basic knowledge of gearbox technology and mechanical assembly/adjustment work
- High willingness to travel, independent way of working, and structured documentation, also in English
- Leadership skills, decision-making skills, methodical skills, social skills, communicative skills
