Procurement Specialist

Remote Team Solutions is looking for a Procurement Specialist to join an international team of a US-based company specializing in the distribution of products for the foodservice industry. Our client is a family-owned company with over 80 years of history, recognized for its product quality, service, and long-term relationships with its customers and suppliers.

About the position: We are looking for an organized, analytical, proactive, and detail-oriented person to support the daily operations of the Procurement area. This position combines activities of purchasing, sourcing, inventory management, replenishment, and data analysis, so we are looking for a profile that not only has experience managing purchase orders and suppliers but is also capable of interpreting information and using data to support decision-making.

Main responsibilities:

• Maintain professional and timely communication with suppliers, sales teams, and internal areas via email and instant messaging.
• Execute purchases with suppliers and generate Purchase Orders.
• Manage purchase order confirmations and follow up on pending or delayed orders.
• Identify and communicate product shortages to the sales team.
• Support product replenishment activities in different distribution centers.
• Review reports related to purchasing, inventory, forecasting, and sourcing.
• Monitor inventory performance through indicators such as:
• Inventory turnover
• Weeks of inventory on hand
• Inventory balance
• Product availability
• Support objectives related to service level, forecast accuracy, inventory adjustments, shrinkage, and inventory levels.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in Purchasing, Procurement, Sourcing, Inventory, Supply Chain, Replenishment, Demand Planning, or related areas.
• Experience managing purchase orders and communication with suppliers.
• Knowledge of purchasing, sourcing, and product replenishment processes.
• Knowledge of inventory management concepts and indicators.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to review reports, identify trends, and take data-driven actions.
• Knowledge of concepts such as:
• Inventory turnover
• Weeks of inventory on hand
• Service level
• Forecast accuracy
• Safety stock
• Demand trends
• Standard deviation
• High attention to detail and follow-up capability.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Experience with purchasing systems, inventory, or ERP will be considered a plus.
• Advanced English, indispensable, both written and spoken, to maintain constant communication with suppliers and international teams.

Work modality:

The position is 100% on-site, so it is indispensable to have availability to work from the company's facilities in Torreón. Due to the nature of the role, advanced English is required, as the person will have constant written and verbal communication with suppliers and international teams.
