Senior Social Worker - Children's social care team
Our client Suffolk county council is looking for a Senior Social Worker to join their Children's Social care team. Location: Stowmarket Service Areas: Child in Need · Looked After Children · Child Assessment · Support & Prevention Key Responsibilities Manage a complex social work caseload (currently averaging 40 cases) Make and implement autonomous professional decisions on cases involving high levels of complexity, risk, uncertainty, and challenge, with managerial oversight where required. Plan and deliver targeted interventions to meet identified needs and reduce risk for children and families. Liaise effectively with partner agencies to coordinate support, services, and resources for children and their families. Lead and conduct Section 47 (child protection) investigations to ensure thorough and timely enquiries where significant harm is suspected. Key Experience Experience managing a complex caseload, delivering effective social work practice with children and their families. Proven ability to complete complex assessments of risk and need, and to design and implement interventions that achieve the best possible outcomes for children and families. Experience supervising, supporting, and developing colleagues, contributing to strong and reflective practice within the team. Skilled in producing accurate, analytical, and evidence-based reports, and confident in presenting complex and sensitive information across a range of settings, including multi-agency meetings and legal forums.
