Notice of Employment OpportunityProject EngineerABOUT THE ROLEThe Regional District of Nanaimo is seeking a temporary full-time Project Engineer with the Capital Project Delivery team for a three-year term. The Project Engineer is responsible for managing capital projects within the Regional District of Nanaimo, including the planning, design, and construction of capital infrastructure projects. This position will liaise with administrative and operational staff, other government agencies, architects, contractors, consultants, private utility companies, and the public. Current and upcoming projects include major infrastructure initiatives related to recreation, wastewater, and solid waste services.QUALIFICATIONSQualifications include a degree in Engineering, a Professional Engineer designation from Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC) as a P.Eng., plus five to seven years of related experience in the design, construction and project management of water/wastewater or industrial projects. Experience in an operating facility as well as experience in a local government setting are considered assets. Possession of a valid Class 5 Driver?s Licence is required.POSITION DETAILSThis is a temporary full-time exempt position for a three-year term, with the possibility of ending early or extension based on the operational needs of the department.
