Workshop Fitter

A well-established engineering and manufacturing business is looking to recruit a reliable and motivated individual to join its workshop team. This role would suit someone with experience in welding, fabrication, mechanical fitting, vehicle maintenance, or general engineering. Equally, applications are welcomed from candidates who possess some of these skills and are keen to develop further through on-the-job training.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out welding and fabrication work to a high standard.
• Assemble and fit mechanical components and equipment.
• Undertake maintenance, repair, and modification work as required.
• Read and work from engineering drawings and specifications.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Inspect finished work to ensure quality standards are met.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
• Support other areas of the workshop when required.

• Good practical engineering skills.

• MIG/TIG welding experience.
• Fabrication experience.
• Mechanical fitting experience.
• Vehicle mechanic, plant mechanic, HGV, agricultural, or trailer maintenance background.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Previous manufacturing or workshop experience.
