Temporary IT Deployment Technician

Location: Hemel Hempstead, office based Rate: £15.38 per hour Contract: 3 weeks initially, with possible extension Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, 60-minute unpaid lunch Start: Monday 19 October Please note: You will need to provide your own safety shoes.

We are looking for a Temporary IT Deployment Technician to support a busy project preparing and configuring Windows 10 PCs ready for deployment.

This is a hands-on role involving both technical configuration and some physical work, including unpacking, lifting, setting up and repacking IT equipment ready for shipping.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and configure software on Windows 10 PCs
• Complete basic system configuration, including user accounts, settings and updates
• Enter and verify IP addresses and basic network settings
• Configure CMS/device management portal settings
• Follow staging checklists and complete quality checks
• Unpack, move and repack IT equipment ready for deployment
• Maintain accurate records of completed machines

What We're Looking For

• Good working knowledge of Windows 10
• Comfortable installing software and navigating Windows settings
• Basic understanding of networking, including IP addresses, subnet masks, gateways and DNS
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions accurately
• Reliable, organised and able to work at a steady pace
• Comfortable carrying out repetitive, precise configuration tasks

Previous experience in PC staging, desktop deployment, IT support or hardware configuration would be beneficial. Experience with device management tools such as Microsoft Intune or Workspace ONE would also be advantageous but isn't essential.

This would suit someone with 1st Line IT Support, Desktop Support, IT Technician, PC Build or IT Deployment experience who is available to start immediately.
