Teaching Assistant

Salary: Competitive, to be discussed Location: Wyre primary school Job Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 15:30pm

A welcoming primary school is looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils within the Early Years Foundation Stage. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant with EYFS knowledge who is passionate about helping young children learn, develop, and thrive in a nurturing classroom environment. The successful Teaching Assistant will play a key role in supporting both teaching and pupil wellbeing throughout the school day.

Day-to-day of the role

  • Support the class teacher in delivering high-quality learning activities across EYFS
  • Work with individual pupils and small groups to support learning and development
  • Encourage children’s social, emotional, and educational progress
  • Help create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Use initiative to respond to pupils’ needs and support their wellbeing throughout the day
  • Provide personal care support where required
  • Build positive relationships with children to encourage confidence and independence
  • Work closely with colleagues as part of a supportive EYFS team

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working within an EYFS setting
  • Teaching Assistant Level 2 qualification or equivalent experience
  • A positive, proactive, and enthusiastic approach
  • Ability to use initiative and work independently when needed
  • Comfortable undertaking personal care duties
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A caring, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting young learners
