Job Type: Temporary, Full-time

We are currently seeking a Surveyor to join our Housing Services team on a temporary basis. This role is crucial for conducting HHSRS assessments, investigating damp and mould issues, managing disrepair works, and preparing for Awaab's Law requirements. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our housing stock.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Conduct thorough property inspections, surveys, and technical assessments to identify any potential issues.
  • Manage and oversee the remediation of HHSRS hazards, damp, mould, and condensation problems.
  • Specify, oversee, and monitor remedial works from inception through to completion, ensuring all works meet the required standards.
  • Support the implementation of Awaab's Law and maintain housing quality standards.
  • Produce and contribute to legal and technical reports as necessary.
  • Oversee contractor performance, ensuring all works are completed safely, on time, and to a high standard.
  • Address resident concerns and complaints promptly, providing excellent customer service and ensuring positive outcomes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A construction-related qualification or extensive experience in surveying within the housing sector.
  • Proven experience in social housing, repairs, maintenance, property compliance, or asset management.
  • In-depth knowledge of HHSRS, building pathology, damp and mould diagnosis, and relevant housing legislation.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage repairs, disrepair cases, planned works, or major repairs projects.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to handle a varied workload and collaborate effectively with various stakeholders.
