Join our dedicated team in Doncaster as a Street Scene Operative, where you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of streets and public areas. This position requires working outdoors in all weather conditions and provides an opportunity to significantly impact the local community.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Maintain streets and public areas according to designed maintenance and improvement programmes, ensuring they meet service standards for the benefit of Doncaster residents.
• Perform general duties outdoors in various weather conditions, handling tasks appropriate to seasonal changes and emergency situations.
• Serve as a point of contact for customer service within the community, handling enquiries and maintaining positive relationships.
• Undertake multi-skilled tasks across different service areas as needed to ensure continuous service throughout the year.
• Use appropriate equipment and mobile technology safely, and report any unsafe conditions, accidents, or equipment defects to the line manager.
• Provide professional support within the team and share best practices to enhance service delivery.
• Participate in the Council's standby arrangements, including winter maintenance and 24/7 emergency cover, and assist the Emergency Planning Team during emergencies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills and professionalism in customer interactions.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Experience in handling emergency situations is advantageous.
• Familiarity with using mobile technology and safety equipment.
