Location: Leeds Salary: £15.06 per hour Job Type: Temporary, Full-Time We are seeking a Senior Warehouse and Decontamination Officer to manage a small team in the warehouse and decontamination process for the Leeds Community Equipment Service. This role involves overseeing the operations of the warehouse and decontamination area, including the receipt, storage, and dispatch of community equipment to private residences, ensuring compliance with LCES standards and guidelines. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Line manage a team of warehouse assistants and equipment cleaning operatives, supporting their development and maintaining staff records. Ensure proper handling, stacking, and storage of items in the warehouse and decontamination area. Implement and maintain standard operating procedures for warehouse and decontamination management. Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure adequate stock availability. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all warehouse transactions. Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile them with inventory records. Implement measures to prevent and manage stock discrepancies, damages, and losses. Liaise with transporters and other stakeholders to ensure timely dispatch and delivery of supplies. Ensure the warehouse and decontamination area is secure and that safety measures are in place to protect staff and inventory. Implement and enforce health and safety protocols within the warehouse and decontamination area. Conduct regular safety inspections and drills. Prepare and submit regular reports on warehouse operations, inventory status, and any issues encountered. Oversee the timely flow of returned stock items through pre-cleaning, cleaning, and workshop processes in line with LCES protocols and procedures. Required Skills & Qualifications: Experience in a logistic warehouse environment and financial management of stock. Proven ability to supervise, motivate, and direct staff. Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines. IT literacy, with the ability to use logistic management systems and Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word). Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including COSHH, and the ability to ensure compliance. Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop constructive working relationships.
