Chartered Surveyor
Job Type: Contract Location: Rotherham Rate: £475 per day Umbrella Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
We are seeking an experienced Chartered Surveyor to provide professional property advice across a varied local authority estate. This Chartered Surveyor position will cover acquisitions and disposals, valuations, lease negotiations, rent reviews, asset management, development projects, and support for regeneration and capital programmes. The successful Chartered Surveyor will also oversee debt and service charge matters while working with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
Day to day of the role
- Provide professional property advice across a diverse estate portfolio
- Manage acquisitions and disposals in line with operational and strategic requirements
- Undertake valuations, lease negotiations and rent reviews
- Support asset management activity to maximise value and performance
- Contribute to development projects, regeneration initiatives and capital programmes
- Manage debt and service charge matters across the portfolio
- Build effective working relationships with senior officers, tenants, developers and community stakeholders
- Prepare reports, recommendations and property documentation as required
- Ensure property matters are handled in line with relevant legislation, policy and best practice
Required Skills & Qualifications
- MRICS or FRICS qualified
- Proven experience in a Chartered Surveyor or similar property role
- Strong commercial and technical property expertise
- Experience managing a varied property portfolio
- Knowledge of acquisitions, disposals, valuations, lease negotiations and rent reviews
- Ability to support asset management, regeneration and development activity
- Confident working with senior stakeholders, tenants and external partners
- Strong communication, negotiation and report-writing skills
- Local government experience is desirable
