Annual Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 Location: Great Yarmouth Job Type: 12-month Fixed Term Contract (FTC)

Reed Recruitment is delighted to partner with a company in the energy sector to recruit a Senior Purchase Ledger for their Great Yarmouth office. This is a 12-month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave. The role is suited for professionals with experience in Purchase Ledger or Accounts Payable roles, who are ready to step into a key position within a dynamic business environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Oversee and maintain the setup of supplier accounts.
  • Input purchase ledger invoices and match them to purchase orders.
  • Resolve invoice queries and liaise with suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier statement reconciliations and reconcile purchase ledger buying groups.
  • Allocate supplier payments and reconcile company credit cards.
  • Manage PayPal/Proforma accounts and handle supplier returns and credit note reporting.
  • Prepare monthly payment runs, settlement runs, and weekly foreign payment runs.
  • Process payments for staff expenses and perform monthly petty cash reconciliation.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders to resolve ad hoc queries regarding accounting procedures.
  • Provide general administrative and office support, including additional duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Previous accounting experience in a similar role.
  • Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good numeracy and problem-solving skills.
  • Organised and able to use own initiative.
  • Dedicated, self-motivated, and hardworking.
  • Good communication and administrative skills.
  • Enthusiastic and positive outlook.
  • AAT or equivalent accounts training.
  • Proficient in MS Office, especially Excel (intermediate level).
  • Experience using an integrated accounting and stock package.
