Senior Programme Lead

My client is a well-established charity delivering impactful educational and youth engagement programmes across the UK. They are seeking an experienced Senior Programme Lead to provide both strategic and operational leadership across a portfolio of national programmes that engage and develop young people.

The Role

They are looking for a confident and collaborative leader to oversee programme delivery, quality, safeguarding, budgets, and performance. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring programmes meet organisational objectives while maintaining the highest standards of participant experience and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership across a portfolio of education and youth engagement programmes.
• Ensure programmes are delivered effectively, on time, and within budget.
• Lead programme evaluation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage, coach and develop a team of programme professionals.
• Embed safeguarding into all aspects of planning and delivery.
• Oversee risk management, compliance, data protection, and health and safety requirements.
• Monitor budgets, KPIs and programme outcomes, producing reports for senior stakeholders.
• Support organisational development, change initiatives and cross-functional collaboration.

About You

To be successful, candidates will demonstrate:

• Significant experience leading complex programmes with multiple workstreams.
• A strong track record of delivering projects within agreed deadlines and budgets.
• Experience implementing operational improvements and managing organisational change.
• Strong financial management and reporting experience.
• Proven line management and team leadership capability.
• Excellent knowledge of safeguarding principles and best practice.
• Outstanding organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience within the charity, education, youth engagement, community, heritage or wider social impact sectors would be advantageous.
