As part of ongoing succession planning, we are looking for a hands-on engineer who enjoys solving technical challenges, developing products and supporting others within the team.

You'll play a key role in the development, improvement and manufacture of electromechanical products, working closely with production, suppliers and cross-functional teams to deliver robust, commercially viable engineering solutions.

The Role

  • Lead mechanical design activities from concept through to manufacture.
  • Drive New Product Development (NPD) and continuous product improvement projects.
  • Produce and review 3D CAD models, engineering drawings and technical documentation.
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to improve product performance, reliability and manufacturability.
  • Support validation, testing, DFMEA and root cause investigations.
  • Liaise with suppliers regarding technical specifications, quality and design improvements.
  • Provide mentoring and technical support to junior members of the engineering team.
  • Collaborate with electrical and multidisciplinary engineering functions to deliver integrated product solutions.

The Person

  • Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or similar.
  • Experience delivering products from concept through to production.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and Design for Manufacture (DFM).
  • Experience working within product development or engineering design environments.
  • Exposure to electromechanical products, electrical integration or automation systems.
  • Previous mentoring, supervisory or line management experience.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality and supplier teams.
  • CAD experience such as SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor or similar.

Package

  • Salary up to £65,000 DOE
