An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join a growing specialist school in Derby that supports children and young people aged 4 to 19 with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and associated Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
As part of an expanding provision, you will have the opportunity to play a key role in shaping the educational journey of pupils within a supportive and nurturing environment. The Role
We are seeking enthusiastic teachers from either a primary or secondary background who are committed to supporting pupils with additional needs and barriers to learning.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
- Creating a positive, structured and inclusive classroom environment.
- Supporting pupils to achieve academic, social and emotional progress.
- Working closely with therapists, support staff and families to provide a holistic approach to learning.
- Monitoring progress and adapting teaching strategies to maximise outcomes for every pupil.
- Promoting confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Hold QTS, QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Have experience working with, or a strong interest in supporting, pupils with ASC and SEMH needs.
- Be resilient, patient and adaptable in your approach.
- Have excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Be passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of pupils with additional needs.
