Physics Technician (Part-Time)

Location: Reading Hours: 8:00am to 1:00pm, Monday to Friday Term Time Only (if applicable) Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and organised Physics Technician to support the delivery of practical science lessons within a busy secondary school. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen interest in science who enjoys working in an educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing, setting up and clearing away equipment for Physics lessons.
• Maintaining and organising laboratory equipment and resources.
• Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed at all times.
• Assisting teaching staff with practical demonstrations and experiments.
• Monitoring stock levels and ordering supplies when required.
• Carrying out basic maintenance, cleaning and safety checks on equipment.
• Supporting the wider Science Department as needed.

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience working as a Science or Physics Technician is desirable.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• A strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Enthusiastic, reliable and adaptable.
