Rochdale - Registered Children's Home Manager

We are seeking a Registered Children's Home Manager to oversee the overall management of a children's residential home in Rochdale. This role is crucial for maintaining high professional standards and ensuring the health, education, safety, welfare, and positive development of children and young people in care.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

• Manage the children's residential home and ensure compliance with council policies, legal frameworks, and professional standards.
• Promote the health, education, safety, welfare, and development of children and young people in care.
• Coordinate with the management team and promote multi-agency collaboration to improve outcomes for children.
• Oversee the use and organisation of resources in line with council policies.
• Ensure effective contribution to the development and implementation of care plans for children in residential services.
• Manage risks and ensure all staff adhere to safety and welfare policies.
• Facilitate staff development and training in line with council and professional standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Diploma 5 in Management or equivalent is desirable.
• Minimum of 5 years of residential child care work experience.
• At least 2 years of management experience within a residential child care or social care setting.
• Experience in staff supervision, recruitment, and selection.
• Strong ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders including regulatory bodies.
• Proven ability in budget management.
• Experience working within a multi-agency framework and applying anti-discriminatory practices in the workplace.
• Knowledge of the regulatory framework for residential care and child protection.
