Retail Operations Manager

Your tasks

Day-to-day of the role

• Oversee a team of approximately 20 employees across retail, ecommerce, and support functions.
• Provide visible, hands-on leadership to ensure the retail operation continues to deliver an excellent customer experience while supporting the development and wellbeing of the team.
• Maintain momentum and ensure a seamless continuation of business operations during the maternity cover period.
• Your direct reports will include key operational and commercial leaders such as Store Manager, Shop Supervisor, Buyer, Merchandiser, Ecommerce Lead, and Order Fulfilment Team.

Are you an experienced retail leader who thrives on developing people, building strong teams, and maintaining high standards across a multi-channel retail operation? We are recruiting for a Head of Retail Operations to cover a period of maternity leave for a unique and prestigious organisation in Central London. This is a rare opportunity to lead an established retail function with a turnover of approximately £6.5m across physical retail and ecommerce channels.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience leading multi-disciplinary retail teams.
• Natural people leader who enjoys coaching and developing others.
• Ability to build credibility and rapport quickly and lead with empathy.
• Proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
• Strong understanding of retail operations, ecommerce, and commercial performance.
• Experience within heritage, cultural, charity, visitor attraction, or destination retail environments is highly desirable, as is experience within premium retail brands managing both quality and volume.
