REED Business Support in Bath is delighted to be working with a new business with offices in Bath in their search for a Retail Manager.

Your tasks

About the Role An exciting opportunity for an experienced Retail Manager to lead and grow a shop in Bath. You will be a key income-generator, being responsible for driving sales, managing stock, overseeing budgets and leading a team consisting of an Assistant Shop Manager and casual staff.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the business’s retail strategy and purchasing plan.
• Manage budgets, sales performance and profitability targets.
• Oversee stock control, purchasing, pricing, and merchandising.
• Lead, recruit, train, and motivate staff and volunteers.
• Create staff and volunteer rotas across a seven-day operation.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and shop presentation.
• Manage cash handling, card transactions, and retail administration.
• Build strong supplier relationships and negotiate favourable terms.
• Work closely with internal departments and marketing teams to support promotions and events.
• Monitor retail trends, attend trade fairs, and identify opportunities for growth.

This is a permanent role Salary: £30,171 + benefits

• Proven experience managing a retail store or shop.
• Strong commercial awareness with a track record of driving sales.
• Experience in stock management, purchasing, and merchandising.
• Skilled in team leadership, recruitment, and training.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Creative approach to visual merchandising and shop layout.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities.
• Experience working with volunteers would be advantageous.

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Sunday (1 in 4 Saturdays / Sundays)
