Wembley, London Full Time | 36 Hours Per Week | Monday to Friday Immediate Start Available £21.41 per hour PAYE £28.19 per hour Umbrella The Role We are currently recruiting for an experienced Recruitment Advisor to join a busy and high-performing HR and Recruitment team within a leading London local authority based in Wembley. This is an excellent opportunity for a recruitment professional with experience managing end-to-end recruitment campaigns, onboarding processes, and pre-employment compliance checks within a large and complex organisation. You will play a key role in delivering an efficient, customer-focused recruitment service, supporting hiring managers throughout the recruitment lifecycle and ensuring all appointments are processed accurately and compliantly. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality, cost-effective recruitment and selection advice to managers and stakeholders. Manage recruitment campaigns from advertising through to appointment. Coordinate and participate in interviews, assessment centres, and selection activities. Deliver a professional and equitable recruitment service that promotes best practice and inclusivity. Undertake recruitment projects and assignments on behalf of various council departments. Ensure all recruitment activities comply with employment legislation and council policies. Carry out and manage all pre-employment checks, including: DBS checks CIFAS checks Employment references Occupational health clearances Right to Work checks Qualification verification Work permits and visa checks Specialist compliance checks for regulated roles
Issue contracts of employment and onboarding documentation. Produce recruitment reports and maintain accurate recruitment records. Support continuous improvement initiatives and service development objectives. Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure recruitment targets and service standards are achieved. Essential Requirements Knowledge & Qualifications Strong knowledge of recruitment and selection best practice. Good understanding of employment legislation and its application within recruitment. Evidence of ongoing professional development within recruitment, HR, or a related field. Experience Experience undertaking high-level administrative duties within a fast-paced environment. Previous experience delivering recruitment and selection activities within a large and complex organisation. Experience managing recruitment assignments and projects to meet customer requirements. Experience conducting pre-employment screening and compliance checks. Experience developing and maintaining accurate administrative and information management systems. Strong experience using recruitment systems and Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Experience embedding equality, diversity, and inclusion principles into recruitment and assessment processes. Skills & Abilities Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to build effective working relationships with managers, applicants, agencies, and external partners. Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance. High levels of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality. Strong report writing and presentation skills. Ability to manage multiple recruitment campaigns simultaneously and meet tight deadlines. Quick to learn and adapt to new systems and technology.
