Location: Berneslai Homes, Unit 2, Industry Road, Carlton, Barnsley, South Yorkshire, S71 3PQ Pay Rate: £15.85 per hr pay or £19.13 per hour (Umbrella) Temporary Contract: Full Time, 6-Month Contract

Are you a qualified Joiner looking for your next contract opportunity? Berneslai Homes are seeking two experienced Joiners to join their dedicated Damp and Mould Team on a full-time basis for an initial 6-month contract.

This is an excellent opportunity to work within a professional housing maintenance service, carrying out a wide range of repairs, refurbishment, and improvement works across residential properties throughout Barnsley.

Day-to-day of the role:

As part of the Damp and Mould Team, you will work both independently and as part of a wider operational team to deliver high-quality repairs and improvement works, ensuring customer satisfaction and excellent standards of workmanship at all times.

  • Support the delivery of damp and mould remediation works.
  • Remove and refit kitchen units as part of planned maintenance and improvement programmes.
  • Carry out follow-on works following plastering and remedial treatments.
  • Complete responsive repairs and maintenance activities across housing stock.
  • Undertake all aspects of first and second fix joinery work.
  • Install windows, doors, door frames, skirting boards, architraves, flooring and kitchen units.
  • Carry out refurbishment, repairs, maintenance and new-build joinery works.
  • Remove and replace timber guttering and complete associated repairs.
  • Lift and fix carcassing timbers, floor joists, roof timbers and shuttering.
  • Install PVCu windows, doors, composite doors, trims and finishing products.
  • Set out hip roof designs for traditional and non-traditional roofs.
  • Implement security measures to vacant and vulnerable properties.
  • Work collaboratively with tenants, colleagues, supervisors and other trades.
  • Operate safely when working at height using appropriate equipment.
  • Maintain vehicle stock levels to ensure service efficiency.
  • Complete all required worksheets and job documentation within deadlines.
  • Undertake Driver/Labourer duties when required.
  • Ensure all work is delivered in accordance with Health & Safety legislation and company standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Joinery (or equivalent qualification)
  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • Experience in repairs, maintenance, refurbishment and housing-related joinery works
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices
  • Ability to work at height when required
  • A valid Basic DBS will be required for this position
