We are working with an established and growing utilities and civil engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Program Planner .

This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful business delivering infrastructure and utilities projects across the UK. You will take ownership of project programmes and work closely with Project Managers, Commercial teams and site-based delivery teams.

The Role

As Program Planner, you will develop, manage and report on project programmes using Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project .

You will monitor project progress, identify programme risks and delays, and provide project teams with clear information to support successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and update project programmes using P6 and/or MS Project
  • Monitor site progress and update programmes accordingly
  • Produce short-term and 4/8/12-week look-ahead programmes
  • Work closely with Project Managers, engineers, subcontractors, design and procurement teams
  • Monitor planned vs actual progress and reforecast completion dates
  • Identify delays, programme risks and opportunities
  • Develop recovery and mitigation programmes where required
  • Produce weekly and monthly programme reports
  • Review subcontractor programmes and integrate them into master schedules
  • Work with Commercial teams on compensation events, early warnings and variations
  • Undertake delay analysis and Time Impact Analysis (TIA)
  • Support programme-related claims and dispute resolution
  • Analyse productivity trends and forecast activity durations
  • Develop tender programmes where required
  • Attend planning and progress meetings with internal and external stakeholders

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Planner, Project Planner or Program Planner
  • Background within utilities, civil engineering, infrastructure or construction
  • Strong knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project
  • Understanding of construction methodologies and sequencing
  • Knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 and/or FIDIC contracts
  • Experience producing project schedules, look-ahead programmes and mitigation plans
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proactive approach with strong attention to detail
